The Pululahua Crater has always been a preferred place for local mountain bikers. The dirt roads are fun to ride on, and there is little car traffic.  Expect some trafic during national holidays.

We have five basic bikes with front suspension and soft wide seats.  Some of the trails are too steep for our bikes so bring your own bike if you expect professional level equipment.

What follows are descriptions of guided Biking trails.

1 Hour Crater Valley

A good ride to experience the beauty and variety of the agricultural side of the crater.  In the map below you can follow the red path representing the roads inside the front valley of the crater.  Allow 1 hour easy riding.

2-3 Hour Lava Dome Circle

The perfect ride for those looking for adventures, you will have to carry your bike in some areas.  In the map below follow the blue path around the Pondoña lava dome in the center.  Allow 4 hours difficult riding.

4-6 Hour Yunguilla Puluahua Circle

The most popular bike trail takes 4-6 hours and requires good abilities strength and stamina.  Note that to complete the circle it is required to do a little biking on the highway between the Pululahua entrance and the Yunguilla entrance.  This highway ride is shown in light blue.

4-6 Hour Chaupisacha Infiernillo Circle

Fantastic views of the many ecosystems are found on this trail, it takes 4-6 hours and requires good abilities strength and stamina.  The riding is in dirt roads, rocky roads, narrow paths.  Many areas are very steep.
